Beautiful handmade ceramic challah board and matching knife set used on the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat) and holidays. The Hebrew letters on the upper right corner of the ceramic platter spell out חלה (Challah), which is the traditional braided bread eaten during these festive meals. The inscription engraved on the metal blade reads לכבוד שבת (L'chavod Shabbat), which translates to "In honor of Shabbat." The board features unique braided clay borders running up the sides, evoking the actual twisted look of a challah loaf. The bottom section is decorated with deep blue and white glazed ocean-like waves. Signed on the back by the artist.
