Beautiful vintage footed silver Kiddush cup with an underplate, Sabbath. Judaica Gift.

Unmarked, but I think it was made by Karshi Jerusalem 1955. Back in the 50s this company was started and it has been passed down from generation to generation. It is now in the hands of Y. Karshi and he is making some award winning pieces. Great quality. Excellent detailed work.

This set can be used as an engagement, wedding or any other happy event gift, and also as a Kiddush cup for Jewish holidays and for Shabbat. Great gift idea for Jewish holidays and joyful occasions (Simchas). Both pieces have embossed cityscape of Jerusalem on them, tower of David in particular.

Shabbat and Jewish holiday meals begin with a blessing over a cup of wine called Kiddush (a Hebrew word that means “sanctification”). Many families have a special glass or goblet, called Kiddush cup, specifically for the purpose, often an heirloom that has been passed down through the generations. Either wine or grape juice may be used for this blessing, and some families stand for Kiddush, while others sit.

The cup is approximately 6 1/8” tall. The saucer is 5” square.

Excellent vintage condition.
