Vintage enameled brass letter opener featuring mid-century Israeli folk art design. Made in Israel. It belongs to a style of mid-20th-century decorative brassware often referred to as "Israeliana". The wide handle is shaped like a pointed oval or teardrop, decorated with a hand-painted depiction of a menorah (a traditional seven-branched candelabrum) and stylized text reading "ISRAEL". The body of the blade features a distinctive textured green/teal enamel finish, contrasting with the exposed golden brass tone of the tip and handle base.
Approximately 7 inches long.
Vintage pieces like this were widely produced as souvenirs and desk accessories from the 1950s through the 1970s.
