The text on the plate reads "שנה טובה" (Shanah Tovah), which translates from Hebrew to English as "Good Year" or "Have a good year." This is the traditional greeting used during Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The plate features red apples, which are traditionally dipped in honey during this holiday to symbolize the hope for a sweet new year.

The logo on the back of the platter is the official logo of the Women's International Zionist Organization (WIZO). ויצו (Vitzo) is the Hebrew acronym for the organization. The volunteer organization was founded in London in 1920. Next to the government, it operates as one of the largest providers of social welfare, early childhood education, and women's rights initiatives in Israel.
