Lidar Menorah with a 24k gold overlay and silver plating over brass.
Seven-branched menorah, an ancient and potent symbol in Judaism representing universal enlightenment and the divine light of God. In Hebrew, "menorah" simply means "lamp" or "lampstand".
Unlike the nine-branched Hanukkiah used during the holiday of Hanukkah, a seven-branched menorah is traditionally associated with the Temple in Jerusalem. The seven branches are often interpreted to symbolize the seven days of creation, the seven continents, or the seven aspects of human knowledge guided by the central branch of divine light.
In ancient times, a solid gold, seven-branched menorah was lit daily with fresh olive oil in the Tabernacle and later in the Holy Temple. Today, a symbolic seven-branched lamp (called the Ner Tamid, or Eternal Light) is often a permanent fixture in synagogues, signifying God's eternal presence.
