Beautiful Vintage Arnart Ceramic Hand Painted Seder Plate, used for the Jewish holiday of Passover. 

The plate holds symbolic foods crucial to the Seder ceremony, which retells the story of the Exodus from Egypt.  Key items include a shankbone (Zeroa), representing the paschal sacrifice, an egg (Beitzah), symbolizing a pre-holiday offering, and bitter herbs (Maror )for the bitterness of slavery. The Seder plate is the focal point of the Seder table, and each item has specific significance to the ritual meal. In addition to the Passover symbols, the design includes order of seder, pictures of plagues and the 4 questions in Hebrew and English. Measures 16 1/2" in diameter. Plate is trimmed in gold.
