Hand-blown art glass decoration created by American artist Leon Applebaum. The artist signs his work with "Elfbaum" (which is an alternate spelling of his last name often used for signatures).
Leon Applebaum is a renowned glass artist who began his career during the American Studio Glass movement.
His work often features a combination of blown glass and "cold working" techniques, where cooled pieces are cut, engraved, and assembled using ultraviolet glue to create precise sculptural forms and explore optical effects and transparency. Applebaum's pieces are known for their vibrant, jewel-like colors, fluid abstract shapes, and exploration of light, form, and texture. His sculptures are included in numerous prestigious museum collections, including the Corning Museum of Glass and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
