Mid-Century Modern Brutalist brass nutcracker pedestal bowl, crafted in Israel and highly sought after as a piece of vintage Israeliana metalware. The center features a practical mechanical lever-action nutcracker designed to crack hard shells while the surrounding dish catches the pieces. The main bowl is etched with a classic Middle Eastern camel caravan procession and palm tree motif.  The outer rim is bordered by 12 round medallions, each depicting a distinct symbol representing one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. The textured lever arm is inscribed with "JERUSALEM". These desktop server bowls were frequently made by famed Israeli metalwork companies like Tamar or Wainberg Silversmith during the 1950s to 1970s.
