The front of the holders features an engraving of the word "Jerusalem". Made from a durable base material (like polyresin or base metal) finished with electroformed 925 sterling silver plating and gold accents. 
The "925" stamp means the silver composition is 92.5% pure silver mixed with 7.5% other metal alloys (usually copper) for durability. For detailed, sculptural Judaica items like these globes, the process used is typically electroforming. A thick layer of sterling silver is electronically layered over a molded base core, allowing for intricate, three-dimensional designs without the weight or cost of a completely solid metal casting.
